Eight- twelve volunteers are needed to prepare food and serve approximately 75 Youth Haven resident children and staff members.
During our BBQ, the Youth Haven staff will be overseeing a variety of yard games and court activities with the kids. We will be supporting them in many of their activities. Positive interaction with the kids is encouraged. We can all make a difference with the kids at Youth Haven.
The cooks for the BBQ will be Capt'n Ron and J.R. Some of the volunteer tasks will involve serving the hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, beverages and sheet cake and ice cream. All of the food is being supplied from the Wine Tasters of Naples charity fund.
This volunteer commitment is for 4 hours. Absolutely no experience is required! You will love this day!
We are encouraging our volunteers to wear a comfortable costume if you have one (even a shirt & hat). We are trying to avoid any real scary outfits due to the fragile situations involving some of their younger residents. A "Super Hero" or "American Hero" theme is suggested. (Capt'n Ron has a few t-shirts with the Capt'n America design. You many contact Capt'n Ron if you think that would work.)
We may need two or three volunteers to help pickup the prepaid sheet cake and ice cream that Saturday morning at Costco in Naples. Also, if anyone has any extra Autumn decorations that we could use on eight of their picnic tables, that would be nice also.
